SLA (Stereolithography) is an additive manufacturing process through the UV laser light scanning and rapid solidifying of the liquid photosensitive Resin layer by layer to build up the 3D models. SLA process can not be limited by any design but only the imagination of the engineers and designers. SLA Models are usually used as Master Models to make the Silicone Rubber Mold for Vacuum Casting. Superior Prototype uses Somos 14120 and Somos GP Plus 14122 resins for SLA materials, they are imported from American DSM Corporate with ABS-like properties.
Firstly, we put the surface-treated Master Model made by CNC or SLA in one casting box, then pour the vacuum debubbling liquid silicone rubber into the box till covering the Master Model, once solidified of the liquid silicone rubber split the silicone rubber mold and take out the Master Model. Usually this process is applied for low-volume plastic parts production for its short production cycle and low cost. One Silicone Rubber Mold can cast about 20 PU parts, and it is subject to the design of the casting parts. The casting parts can be colored in Silicone Rubber Mold, which avoids the painting after the casting and greatly improve the productivity. There are many PU materials for Vacuum Casting now, Superior Prototype can provide the reasonable Casting materials according to the parts application and specific requirements.
RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) is an industrial molding process whereby the polymerization and solidifying of two or more liquid pre-polymers in mold cavity to form parts. Firstly, the two or more liquid pre-polymers are respectively injected into the Mixing Head in a definite ratio and mixed evenly in pressure, then the evenly mixed liquid pre-polymers are quickly injected into the mold cavity. The mold materials can be ABS, Epoxy, Aluminum, etc. This process is very applicable for Low-volume production of big covering parts with simple design. Because of its simple and cheap mold making and easy operation, it can greatly save not only cost but also time for product development and get the product into market fast.
Superior Prototype offers Rapid Sheet Metal Prototyping through the cutting, punching and bending of the sheet metal. The wall thickness of Sheet Metal Prototype should be under 6 mm and material Stainless Steel.
